A quick evolution …

Calum started his rugby league journey at the North Queensland Cowboys Academy in Australia, taking full advantage of the club’s experience, which has been established in the NRL since the creation of the championship in 1998. He then joined the Norths Devils in 2018, playing in the Queensland Cup – often described as the antechamber of the NRL – until 2021 before moving to Europe and London in February 2022.

… until his first international call

Of Scottish origin, Calum has just made his international debut at the Rugby League World Cup where he represented Scotland. A new opportunity to test himself at the highest level in the world, since he was on all the match sheets of group games, against Australia, Fiji and Italy. It was also an opportunity to be spotted by Toulouse coach Sylvain HOULES, who quickly noticed his potential: “Calum is a very dynamic player behind a play-the-ball, who brings a lot of uncertainty and speed. He is very enthusiastic and passionate about rugby league. « .

 A promising young talent

The Australian hooker’s career took a big turn in 2022 and the coming season promises to be just as full of challenges. Toulouse Olympique are delighted to be able to count on Calum GAHAN for their new project: return to Super League and stay there. The club will need a close-knit squad to achieve this and Calum seems to have the right profile: “Calum has many of the qualities we were looking for: youth, speed and determination. His energy will bring a lot to the club”, says Bernard SARRAZAIN, President of TO XIII. A motivation shared by the new Olympian: “I am excited at the idea of joining Toulouse and embracing the culture and history of the club: working hard to build something special and return to Super League« .

We will have to wait until December to see Calum at training, with the return of the internationals.
