TO XIII Training & Development Center Scouting Day: High profiles detected

Wednesday 11th May took place the traditional scooting day for the Development & Training Center of the Toulouse Olympique XIII, in the Arnauné Stadium. The goal was to start the recruitment process of young players with high profile in order to help them reach their full potential so they can feed the first team squad in the coming years.

The candidates, listening to Adam INNES’ instructions - Credit TO XIIIAll day long, the 15 candidates, selected among all the applications, have been tested and carefully watched by the TO’s trainers and staff in charge of judging the qualities of those who might be the future of the Olympians.

As an introduction, the Development & Training Center Director, Didier PALUDETTO, held a presentation of the structure, which is like a “super academy” (accommodation, individual training sessions, special university courses,…), before the prospects reached the field to start the physical tests before lunch.  The bench of tests targeted to evaluate both their technical and physical skills which are essential in Rugby League, such as speed, strength, cardio and stamina. Then the group was divided in two in order to appreciate their aptitudes during a confrontation.

The entire training session has been lead by Adam INNES (conditioner of the first team and of the Development & Training Center) and  Christophe TOUSTOU (technical and tactical head of the Development & Training Center, assistant coach of the first team in charge of the defense and video analysis), assisted by Rachid AMRAOUI (U19 coach). After lunch, the recruitment phase was focused on individuals: each young player went into an individual interview with the managers of the structure and the first team staff.

The morning ended by a confrontation – Credit TO XIIIA rich and intense day which would have certainly enhanced the future talented players of the Toulouse Olympique XIII.
