Toulouse Olympique are pleased to announce the signing of Ethan Quai-Ward until the end of the 2027 season.

Born in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia, Ethan began playing rugby at the age of five in his hometown. However, it was in the neighbouring state of Queensland that he made his senior debut with Souths Logan in 2021.
Two years later, he played eight matches with the Canterbury Bulldogs reserve team. His strong performances earned him his NRL debut that same year, where he also scored a try.
The following year, he returned to Souths Logan, where he enjoyed his most complete season in terms of game time, featuring in 20 matches during the 2024 campaign.
He joined the Redcliffe Dolphins in 2025 before starting the 2026 season with the Wynnum Manly Seagulls, a club well known for supplying players to the Brisbane Broncos’ NRL squad. In total, over five years, he has made 87 appearances and scored 24 tries.
A brand-new challenge now awaits the centre/winger, who will have his first opportunity in Europe:
“My partner and I are so excited to get over to Toulouse. Have done a fair bit of research through the socials on Toulouse and it looks like such a beautiful part of the world and we are super blessed to now be able to call it home. I Can’t wait to hit the ground running and can’t wait to meet my new teammates and find ways to help make the football team better in any way possible as a rugby league player that’s all you strive for is to help do your part for a team. I’ve watched the super league from afar over here in Australia and really admired the calibre of footy. Have watched a fair bit of the Toulouse teams highlights from 2026 in my spare time just being so excited to get over while still here in Australia and the boys are such an amazing footy team as I said above I can’t wait to just figure out ways to implement my skill set however that may look into all the hard work my team mates have all done throughout the preseason and the season so far. Nothing is given in life or Rugby league, so I just want to come over and earn the respect of my teammates through my training and performances on and off the field and how I go about my business every single day.” – Ethan Quai-Ward
The Toulouse coaching staff are delighted with this signing, which strengthens the backline:
“Ethan has impressed us at the start of the season in the Queensland Cup. He is a player with strong physical qualities, capable of maintaining a high work rate for the full 80 minutes. We are looking forward to welcoming him and seeing him perform in the Super League in a Toulouse Olympique shirt.” – Sylvain Houles, Head Coach of Toulouse Olympique.
